With Christmas fast approaching, we’ve jumped on-board the wind down express to 2019 by taking some time to reflect on how our business has developed over the past 12 months. We’ve made a few significant changes to make our service offering more attractive, flexible and affordable for our clients based on understanding who our clients are, why our clients love working with us, and what makes CBZ Photo so unique.
Capturing the attention of your ideal client base with high impact visuals is undoubtedly one of the key objectives within your digital marketing strategy.
We’ve written this blog to address the fundamental differences in relation to the stock imagery vs. custom photography dichotomy, which, let’s face it, most SME’s will come up against in the early years between launching their brand and growing their business.
There is no denying the fact, we are absolute camera and tech junkies, we love it. Faster lenses, faster focus, faster motor drives.... we know and read about it all and, given the opportunity we will use the very best equipment to produce the best results for our customers.
Photography, after all, is all about capturing the moment.
So far so good, I'm feeling positive. 18 miles in over 4 runs. I mean, how hard can this possibly be? I think I'm about to find out... and things could turn sour real quick.
So here we go; 26 miles I shall conquer you. Wish me luck and, lets hope these new kicks live up to their name and make me feel like I'm running 'On Cloud(s)' for the duration! Naturally, they have been paparazzi'd to within an inch of their life before they hit the road, and no doubt there will be some more fun progress photos and videos along the way
Behind every photo there is a story. I took this one to illustrate a somewhat traumatic photographers tale. This tiny Sony RX100 packs a big punch, it is our 'point and shoot 'of choice and, is amazing to use behind the scenes or as a second camera on holiday BUT at the end of the day it just isn't quite the same as my workhorse A7rII.
Aside from my personal affection with photographing landscape and travel images, product photography has shot to the top of my list. The combination of perfecting focus detail with creative product placements suit my pixel-peeping artistic visions down to the ground.
Despite such a small form factor, its quality has certainly not been compromised, and preliminary flights have delivered amazing results of both still images, and video footage. Our creative minds are blown away with the ability to compose, adjust, and create the best possible content, all while the drone is in flight.
''Yes, I think the quiet Christmas period will be the prefect time to 'tweak' the website'' - said nobody ever.... well anyone with a sane mind anyway. It has to be said that we do not shy away from a challenge, and of course this was to be no different.
Without exception, there is only one explanation for a 3:15 am alarm call! With an almost perverse sense of glee I will go to the lengths of hauling myself out of bed at such an hour, BUT it categorically must be for the sole purpose of a travel adventure. This time in search of yoga, mountains and ski lodges!
Finding our niche in a fiercely competitive and some might say saturated market was always going to be the key to success. However, never to be deterred we still believed strongly in our professional photography skills, and a gap for them in the market. We just needed a winning business plan!
The sad day has nearly come to say goodbye to the well travelled friend of my 20's, my slightly battered little red passport is about to take me on my last adventures before it is traded in for a shiny new one! I just hope that Passport #3 is up for the challenge of seeing me through my 30's, with camera in hand from day one I have a feeling it could rival the miles of the current edition. Projected plans for 2017 will certainly get it off to a flying start :)
If you know me, you will know that I have a serious soft spot for a sunrise or sunset. If you don't, this blog will show you the lengths I will go to in order to find one. This is a classic example of adding the word 'sunrise' to any sentence and me saying 'yes'. But WOW I'm so glad I did!
Early last week it dawned on me; I had never photographed horse riding, of any description, ever. To my rescue came a genius idea of my wonderful friend to have a practice shoot with some local riders... the perfect opportunity to get my eye in.
I can, just about, carry an entire mobile studio lighting set-up plus camera gear in two arms. Although I carry the confidence with such a set-up in my mind, it doesn't look much on first glance. I'm pretty sure when I met up with Alex on Friday he was wondering how on earth this shoot was going to pan out...
The latest addition to the ToroPro image line was a very exciting one. When you're asked to capture six time Paralympic gold medalist, Dave Weir in action, you know you're in for a good day at the office :)
Translate the essential qualities of being a successful landscape photographer into 'life' and you'll be sure to win. Never ever give up, despite the gloomiest skies you just never know what is around the corner....
